MUSIC
Abiding Word Church, Ghana sees music as an indispensable part of ministry. This is particularly true when the impact of music in warfare, worship and evangelism are put into perspective. Music encourages the discouraged, uplifts the down-hearted, strengthens the weak and exalts God. Most significantly, music brings the presence of God down. This is accompanied by a divine working of the Spirit spanning deep and secret work in the soul to the mighty palpable demonstration of the power of God wherever songs of worship and praise ascend to the throne of God.

We therefore have a vibrant music ministry formed from a crop of dedicated men and women who sense the call of God upon their lives in this direction; and who wish to live the rest of their lives in obedience to this heavenly call. We believe that skill alone is not enough to make the impact God intends music to make in the congregation. It also takes the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The music department is one place where member are always encouraged to stay spiritually alert through fasting, prayer and holiness.

CHILDREN
The generation of saints who will proudly stand for the cause of Christ after the present one is long gone are today’s children who sometimes sneak into the isles during church services. Sometimes they make a lot of noise to distract attention, yet these are the great men and women who will take up the baton in the race of life that seeks to make Christ relevant to a world tottering at the edge of a dangerous precipice – a sorrowful sight without the Saviour.

In Abiding Word Church these precious gifts of God sing happily but rather discordantly in their Sunday school services that sometimes it’s a headache listening to them. Yet, deep within their hearts, good seeds are being sown and watered every Sunday in obedience to the biblical command of “train up a child in the way he should go, and when he’s old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). With the kind of dedication displayed by teachers in this ministry, the children get the best of inspiration through drama, bible stories, poetry and memory verse recitals and songs that will help mould them into vessels fit for the Master’s use in the near future.

Women
Women have God ordained and privileged task in life. They exert a profound influence on their husbands and the entire home. They bear many responsibilities of their homes, and are also always to be subject to their husbands, in the Lord. In spite of they being referred to as the weaker vessels (1 Peter 3:7), they also have a beautiful and boundless ministry if they want to obey the Great Commission and go out and win souls for Christ.
Having recognized the crucial role women play both at home and in the ministry, the women’s ministry seeks to equip women in the church to be virtuous women at home (to exhibit the adorable positive character traits that springs from a right relationship with God) while they also effectively take up the challenge of contributing to the growth of the ministry. The ministry is also there to motivate women in the church to acquire the necessary skills that will help them make a lot of impact in their chosen careers and also be better positioned to make financial contributions to church projects.

MEN
The men’s ministry was set up to create a platform for men in the church to use their God-given abilities to help advance the kingdom of God while they also make a positive impact on society. Their role of ensuring able leadership for their families as heads through responsible care for their children and loving their wives, are emphasized in their various programs undertaken by the ministry. It is recognized here at Abiding Word Church that to be a successful head of the family as Christ prescribes, the man must be a bread winner. As part of the programs undertaken to ensure the holistic development of men in the church and hence growth of this ministry, business seminars are organized to help them acquire the requisite knowledge and also be able translate this knowledge to useful ventures that puts food on the table, pays the utility bills and fees and also make financial commitment to church programs and projects.

YOUTH
The Youth Ministry was established to take care of the needs of the young men and ladies in the church who are either in school (second cycle and tertiary) or gainfully employed but below the age of …

As the church’s most energetic workforce, this ministry is always kept active to tap into the natural aversion for idleness associated with people in this age bracket. Apart from teaching, prayer and fasting programs, most of their activities are outdoor programs: evangelistic campaigns, excursions, clean up exercises and physical fitness programs.  To help them remember their creator in the days of their youth (Eccl. 12:1), this ministry provides a valid opportunity for these young people in the church to use their talents, skills and gifts during their most productive years to the glory of God.
